I love the idea of “found” stories. There are so many human treasures in the world — the hidden and sometimes subtle stories of life, the things right in front of our faces if we only have the courage to see. I particularly identify with this story. I lost my husband almost six years ago now. The first wedding I attended after he died unexpectedly brought up the same feelings Captain Jack experienced in the presence of a happy couple. But life waits for no one, and we’re in it, like it or not. Live it or not. Even grief is living if we allow ourselves to experience it fully. Thanks for writing this, Ronald.
